For more than 25 years, Heislen Designs has created thoughtful, original homes shaped around the people who live in them and the land on which they are built. Our past-project collection represents more than 800 homes, including one-of-a-kind custom residences, model homes, and carefully developed variations created for the builders and clients we serve.

While the collection reflects decades of experience, every project begins with a fresh point of view. Each home is custom designed for its individual lot, its client, and the way that client wants to live. The result is never simply a plan placed on a property. It is a home developed in response to its surroundings, its purpose, and the people it will serve.

Every Home Begins With Its Site

No two lots are exactly alike. Orientation, views, access, topography, neighboring properties, sunlight, and the character of the surrounding community can all influence the way a home should be designed. At Heislen Designs, those conditions are treated as opportunities rather than limitations.

The relationship between the home and the lot is considered from the beginning. Room placement, circulation, outdoor connections, privacy, and the overall composition of the exterior are developed together so the finished design feels intentional and appropriate for its setting.

Through that process, a design can evolve while maintaining the qualities that made the original concept work.

This combination of experience and continued exploration allows Heislen Designs to approach each commission with confidence while remaining open to new ideas. The portfolio may span decades, but the work is never static.
