This addition is for a large increasing family that is in much need of more bedrooms baths plus an in-law suite that is set up for easy entry from the existing garage from the car through a existing door location that worked out to be into the suite in the perfect location without having to enter the main house. The suite also boasts a private entry for guest without having to go through the garage. The design and finishes are matched to the existing house. The suite has everything you need for full time. Starting in the front away is a bedroom away from the main living space in the back and has large closet plus a large bath with access from the hall as to not disturb anyone in the bedroom has double vanity and a large curb-less shower. Also in the main hall is the laundry closet with slide back doors for easy access passing from bath to the bedroom. The back half of the space is a large open room that includes a kitchenette, dinette and TV lounge. Large windows with an 8′-0″ patio door including transoms for a well lit space that looks out to a private deck along the edge of the woods for wonderful mornings with grand kids.
The house is 15 degrees off the lot line and made a perfect setup for this design to workout just so.
Above is another two bedrooms plus another bath jack and jill style between the both bedrooms. Both bedrooms have large walk in closets. This is only accessed thought the main house second floor study. The new entry is through the existing study window opening. With this design no header had to be added or changed.
All of the design elements are the same including the roof pitches, roof overhangs and materials match the existing house. It will look like this has always been part of the original house.
The main living space flows from one to the other with a great layout to the kitchenette has a work triangle that is compact but feels large with the open design. Adding some of the stone to match the main house is the perfect touch without over doing it. This also matches the front entry wall and planter.
